An overview of the various ways you can influence what issues are raised and voted on in Parliament.
Exploring the various ways to engage with Parliament including writing to your MP, getting a question raised in the House of Commons, requesting an Early Day Motion or Adjournment debate, contacting parliamentary special interest groups and providing evidence to a Select Committee.
Do you know that Parliament works for you? Do you know how Parliament works? If your answer to these 2 questions is "No" then this session is just for you.
This course will focus on:
- An overview of the various ways to engage effectively with Parliament including:
- Writing to your MP
- Getting a question raised in the House of Commons
- Requesting an Early Day Motion
- Requesting an Adjournment debate
- Contacting parliamentary special interest groups
- Providing evidence to a Select Committee
- Become equipped to better understand and interact with Parliament
