Community Directory online
The new Devon wide Community Directory is now live online http://www.directory.devon.gov.uk/kb5/devon/directory/home.page A range of coluntary and statutoryu services available online. Can you identify a need in your community that a group of supported volunteers could meet?
I am looking for community groups or organisations to link with to develop some new community volunteering projects across Exeter.
Westbank provides care and promotes health within communities and for individuals across Devon. The organisation has started an exciting new 5 year project funded by Big Lottery which aims to create healthier communities in Exeter and Teignbridge. One strand of this project is looking to offer people with additional needs opportunities to take part in supported volunteering projects within their communities, as a means of developing skills and improving self confidence.
Does your organisation have a need for a team of volunteers to come in and complete a task that will be of benefit to the local community? This could be a one off event or a more ongoing need, for example to help out at a local festival, redecorate a community building or maintain a community garden.
At present the project is in development stages so I am afraid we cannot respond to urgent requests but would be interested in more medium term suggestions.
