- Piloting a needs assessment with individuals
- Brokering and developing volunteering/training opportunities
- Development of a befriending/mentoring scheme

A rewarding and challenging opportunity for an experienced, self motivated, manager to run our Newton Abbot Refurnish branch. You will be responsible for maximising sales and Gift Aid income, and managing staff and volunteers.
The right candidate must be prepared to lead from the front and be involved in all aspects of the job including lifting furniture and appliances, and occasional driving. Excellent people skills and a commitment to our charities aims of helping people and reducing waste are essential. A positive attitude and a willingness to work with volunteers with support needs is required. Good admin and basic IT skills including spreadsheets and word processing are required. As is a strong focus on staff development, training and support. Driving licence and own car are essential.

Food for Life Partnership Local Programme Manager - Devon

Fixed term contract until 31 March 2013 with annual extension to March 2015 depending on further funding The Food for Life Partnership (FFLP) has been commissioned by NHS Devon to support the delivery of the programme in the county. We are now looking for a locally based manager to work directly with schools to improve the knowledge and consumption of healthy and sustainable food, act as the first point of contact regarding the FFLP programme for schools, caterers, producers and others, and ensure that regional stakeholders are engaged in and value the FFLP programme. You will help plan and organise events and other activities for schools by working closely with the FFLP partner organisations. You will have experience of working in schools, Public Health or Local Authorities, as well as a good knowledge of sustainable food issues. You will be a confident self-starter, able to build relationships at all levels within local authorities and other stakeholder organisations, and able to work on your own initiative. COMMUNITY ENTERPRISE ADVISOR
Salary scale 26 – 31, £22,221 - £26,276 dependant on experience (FT: 36.25 hours per week, permanent post).
The Community Council of Devon is offering this exciting opportunity to join their enterprising team to support the development of grass-roots social enterprises throughout rural Devon in response to locally identified needs. You will also play a key role in helping to deliver their consultancy service and in promoting social and micro enterprises at a strategic level. You should have proven experience in community development work and an understanding and enthusiasm for the social enterprise sector.

YOUTH LEADER & YOUTH WORKER
Socops aims to provide opportunities for our young people to socialise whilst taking part in recreational and educational activities. Our group is open to children and young people with High Functioning Autsim/Asperger Syndrome including their siblings and families.
Operational Youth Leader and Youth Worker
We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed individuals to coordinate and deliver a programme of activities in the community, providing social and learning opportunities to our Socops Plus Group aged 15 – 20.
Applicants for the leader role must be confident that they can organise and deliver an exciting and appropriate programme of activities within the community. Both posts will work closely with other members of staff and the Socops Management Committee. A CRB disclosure will be required for both of these posts. The hours for these posts is generally between 3 and 5 per week on a Thursday evening during term time.
