Take Part Exeter: Active Learning for Active Citizenship
10 minute documentary about Exeter CVS's 'Take Part' active citizenship learning programme. Footage from training sessions and interviews with learners shows how funded active learning is a cost-effective way to empower people to step up and do more in their community.
Shot and cut by Friday Animal. Voiceover by Bruce O'Connor. Music by Keith Sharman.
Working with the Police Authority
Short training video designed by Exeter CVS for Devon&Cornwall Police Authority as part of their recruitment drive for volunteer board members and custody visitors. Previously recorded interview footage was too low-resolution to project full-screen during the training session, so a montage of 'deliberately' distorted footage was assembled with special effects. The clip opens with a 30-second lead-in, during which the trainer would introduce the video. Editing and effects by Friday Animal.
Big Society Conference Presentations
In November 2010 Exeter CVS co-hosted a conference about developing The Big Society in the South West. The conference was over-subscribed so video recordings were made of all the presentations and shared online for those who could not attend. You can watch more video footage of all the presentations on the Youtube playlist at www.youtube.com/exetercvs
Lend a Hand - Personal Development through Gardening
Short film about the work of Exeter CVS 'Lend a Hand' project, which ran until 2009.
Volunteers with a range of needs received a qualification in Personal Development, through classroom tuition and active work gardening in the community, assisting local residents who were unable to care for their property themselves.
Shot and cut by Friday Animal. Music by Matt Sanders.
Living Full Lives with Sensory Impairment
Training video designed to raise awareness in Social Care professionals of the best ways to help older people living with sensory impairment.
